XPO recently opened three new facilities that were acquired by the less-than-truckload carrier as part of the Yellow Corp. bankruptcy.

Yellow was also a less-than-truckload carrier that ceased operations July 2023. The closure led to many of its assets and facilities going up for auction. XPO was able to acquire several locations, and will now restart operations in Las Vegas; Sherman, Texas; and Landover, Md.

“We’re pleased to continue opening our new service centers on schedule and to be deepening our presence in Nevada,” said Dave Bates, chief operating officer of XPO. “Las Vegas is a vital shipping gateway for our customers and a major destination for trade shows and conventions. We’re excited about the opportunities this location creates for our customers and the elevated service it will enable us to provide in the region.”

The Las Vegas service center was opened to expand trade show shipping and strengthen freight transportation across the region. XPO said the location enables faster service to local customers and more efficient routing of freight across the Southwest and Rockies. It joins another existing location the company has in the city. The service center also measures 36,000 square feet.

The Landover facility was brought online earlier than planned to help alleviate some of the shipping delays across the areas created by the closure of the Key Bridge in Baltimore. The newly renovated 20,000-square-foot service center is about 10 miles east of Washington, D.C., and 30 miles southwest of Baltimore. XPO noted the center will reduce travel times to customers in the region and expand capacity to meet growing freight demand across the area.

The Sherman facility was opened to support shipping to and from the Dallas-Fort Worth and Texoma regions. Its located on a 5-acre site right outside the Dallas metropolitan area. XPO said the location replaces its local service center in the area to strengthen its ability to serve customers in the region.
