Gasoline Jumps 18¢ in Two Weeks, to $2.66 a Gallon
Regular gasoline jumped 18 cents in the past two weeks to a national average $2.66 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of fuel prices.
The rise left the price about 12 cents below the same time last year, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey, which was released Sunday.
Mid-grade rose 17 cents to $2.78 and premium jumped 27 cents to $2.90, Lundberg said.
The lowest price was in Cheyenne, Wyo., at $2.16, while Anchorage, Alaska, had the highest, at $3.23 per gallon.
Oil prices have spiked in the past two weeks to more than $80 a barrel for the first time in a year. Prices held over $80 on the New York Mercantile Exchange early Monday, Bloomberg reported.
The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
