Sen. Tom Carper said he will tour three transportation projects in Delaware on Aug. 28 to emphasize the importance of infrastructure in his state and what could be lost if a new surface funding plan is not passed soon.

The Democratic chairman of the subcommittee on transportation infrastructure within the Environment and Public Works Committee, Carper said state transportation departments might not budget for construction projects if Congress and the administration do not agree on a long-term plan to replace MAP-21.

Carper said he will be joined by state and local officials and the press in visits to Wilmington, Milford and Ocean View.

The Christina River Bridge project is in Wilmington; the Route 1/Front Street overpass project is in Milford; and the Route 26 project is in Ocean View.
