Echo Global Logistics’ 1Q Net Income Falls 18%; Revenue Improves

Echo Global Logistics’ first-quarter net income fell 18% to $2.4 million, or 10 cents per share, from $3 million, or 13 cents per share.

The Chicago-based company said April 24 its revenue increased 21% to $247.7 million.

Net revenue, or revenue less purchased transportation costs, rose 9.8% to $42.2 million. Income excluding acquisition and contingency payments, taxes and interest slipped to $5.4 million from $5.6 million.

CEO Douglas Waggoner said the results were the highest gross and net revenue for the company.
