Financial services firm Expediter Services will feature its truck ownership program for independent contractors and fleet drivers during its ES Group Gathering on April 27-28 in Southaven, Miss.
Scheduled speakers include: Ellen Voie, CEO of Women in Trucking Association; Michael Miller, managing director of Stephens Transportation & Logistics Group; Leah Shaver, chief operating officer for the National Transportation Institute; Nick Burch, recruiting director for Panther Premium Logistics; and Ryan Gilliam, recruiting vice president for Forward Air Corp.
Expediter and WIT launched last November the 150 Business Challenge with the goal of establishing 150 new women-owned small businesses within the transportation sector in 2018. It reports that 29 trucking businesses had been started through the challenge by April 4.
Memphis, Tenn.-based Expediter has helped placed owner-operators with ArcBest Corp.’s Panther Premium division, FedEx Corp.’s Custom Critical Services, Forward Air and XPO Logistics.
Expediter provides market-rate financing, insurance, fuel discounts, maintenance programs, back-office support and business planning programs.
