Insurer Kunkel Offers CarriersEdge Courses
Trucking industry insurance broker Kunkel & Associates will offer to its customers more than 70 online driver training courses from CarriersEdge, the provider of safety and compliance courses for the industry.
The CarriersEdge program offers full-length and refresher courses in several languages on trucking safety and regulatory tissues. Courses can be accessed with a computer or mobile device with an internet connection.
“This allows drivers the ability to access these tools anywhere, providing the company with a channel to communicate clear and consistent messages to the entire team,” Kunkel CEO Jason Knockel said.
The Kunkel-CarriersEdge program is a subscription service in which the client firm pays a monthly fee, and all employees of the firm receive unlimited access to the courses. Prices are based on the number of drivers that need access, according to CarriersEdge.
Administrator accounts are added for free, and the program offers tools for managing a training program. Administrators can track who has taken what course along with student quiz results.
Dubuque, Iowa-based Kunkel supports fleet operations that include dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, dump, towing, driveaway, hazardous materials, intermodal, less-than-truckload, tank and passenger carriers.
Markham, Ontario-based CarriersEdge also co-manages the annual Best Fleets to Drive For program with the Truckload Carriers Association.
