Load Boards Show Modest Market Change

The latest weekly load board reports from DAT and Internet Truck Stop showed modest changes on a sequential basis.

Internet Truck Stop said loads made available slipped 2%, indicating slightly less demand, and truck availability fell 6%, signaling a tighter market. As a result, its Market Demand Index gained to 19.66 from 18.82. Rates overall rose 1 cent to $2.29 per mile, the company’s Sept. 29 report said.

DAT reported rates were little changed. Demand remained strong for flatbed equipment, but the market slipped slightly for refrigerated and van freight, the load board operator said.
