Commercial vehicle supplier Meritor Inc. announced a realignment of its three operating segments to further drive its long-term strategic objectives while assigning new responsibilities as part of the company’s commitment to leadership development.
This realignment is effective immediately, the company announced Jan.18.
Under the realignment, Chris Villavarayan was appointed president of global truck. Since February 2014, he served as senior vice president and president of the Americas. His new role recognizes the increasingly global nature of the on-highway original equipment customer base, according to the Troy, Mich.-based company.
Joseph Plomin was appointed senior president of aftermarket and trailer and quality as Meritor intends to grow its aftermarket business. Since January 2014, he served as international senior vice president and president.
Robert Speed was appointed president of industrial, engineering and procurement. Since April 2015, he served as president, aftermarket and trailer. He will focus on the company’s highest long-term potential growth businesses, including China, off-highway, specialty and components.
He also will oversee engineering activities as Meritor increases its pace of product launches.
