New Texas Nonprofit Advocates for Local Trucking Companies

A new nonprofit organization in Laredo, Texas, that aims to help and support trucking companies planned its grand opening for Aug. 30.

U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar is scheduled as the keynote speaker for the inauguration of the Laredo Motor Carriers Association at the IBC Bank-Laredo Annex Building in Laredo.

According to its website, “Laredo Motor Carriers Association is a nonprofit trade association representing the trucking industry, committed to support and advocate for a safe, efficient and profitable trucking industry by promoting highway safety and providing educational programs, seminars and training.”

The association also says it serves “the core needs of our members while proactively working to enhance compliance with federal, state and local laws and maintaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity in its relationships with members, government officials, public and other coalitions and associations.”



Rafael Tawil Jr., president of the association and general manager at TUM Logistics, said the organization will assist vendors by increasing their business.
