Toyo Unveils Tire for Rugged Driving Conditions

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Toyo Tires unveiled the M153, a tire designed for high-scrub applications, at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The 10,000-pound load-carrying capacity tire aims to deliver performance and durability, especially when tread wear is the main reason for tire removal.

Relying on a state-of-the-art design, it features a deep 26/32-inch tread depth, and its wide tread pattern helps to distribute heavy loads evenly for better mileage on high-scrub environments.

"Companies that run trash trucks want long tread life. They measure tread life in terms of weeks, not years. So tires wear fast. Our tire holds up on tread life with anybody else’s product," Mike Graber, senior product manager for commercial tires at Toyo Tires, told Transport Topics on March 26.
