SAN DIEGO — Velociti, a technology deployment company, announced a new Deployment as a Service model Oct. 6 that incorporates everything from project planning through post-installation repairs.

The announcement came Oct. 6 at American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition here.

The Deployment as a Service model is customizable and can be used for any onboard technology investment as a monthly subscription per tractor, trailer or container.

The program features project planning, installation design, hardware staging/configuration, shipping, scheduling, installation and post-installation services. It includes 24/7 technical support, inventory management and on-site repairs.

Fleets using the service can track progress though Velociti’s project management portal, Velogic.

Deryk Powell, president of Velociti, said the service is the first of its kind in the industry and allows any fleet to invest in any kind of on-board technology and wrap that solution into a flat per-unit, per-month basis over a 24-, 36- or 48-month term.

“We essentially provide a turn-key solution between technology provider and technology fleet, doing everything that needs to be done, including developing the program itself,” said Powell.

Powell said there are many benefits to the technology providers, including customer satisfaction tied to systems being properly deployed.

And for the fleets, the service allows companies that struggle with a technician shortage “to have them focus on their mission-critical things like tires and brakes and engines and transmissions, all the things that we know they have to do,” said Powell.
