Yokohama to Display 10 Tire Models at MATS

Yokohama Tire Corp. will display 10 tire models at its Mid-America Trucking Show display booth in Louisville, Kentucky. All of the tires meet the standards of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program.

“Yokohama’s been a big proponent of . . . SmartWay program for many years,” said Rick Phillips, a Yokohama vice president. Phillips said the tires met SmartWay’s low- rolling-resistance criteria because they run cooler and help reduce fuel consumption.

The Yokohama lineup at MATS will include two models of ultra-wide-base tires, three types of drive-axle tires, three models of steer-axle tires and two types of trailer tires.

The company is a part of Japan’s Yokohama Rubber Co. U.S. operations are based in Santa Ana, California.
