Commission Delays Toll Hikes on Del. River Bridges
Implementation of E-ZPass System Cited as Reason for Indefinite Postponement
Toll increases on seven of the toll bridges linking New Jersey with Pennsylvania were delayed indefinitely pending implementation of the E-ZPass system, a spokeswoman for the bridges’ operating authority said.
That allows more time for trucking associations from the two states to implement a plan they hope will change the rate hikes, said Jim Runk, president of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association.
“We’re going to go public and see if something can be done — such as reducing the increases and/or phasing them in,” he told Transport Topics.
