Carriers that generate more than $10 million in revenue must file quarterly reports with DOT listing their operating revenue and expenses, net income, number of employees and equipment.
he Department of Transportation said it was seeking comments on a petition from the Truckload Carriers Association, which has asked that motor carriers no longer be required to publicly report financial information, including balance sheets and income statements.
TCA filed the petition last November, and DOT’s request for comments was published in the Aug. 15 Federal Register. Public comments are due by
ct. 14.
About 2,400 carriers filed such reports for 2001, DOT said.
