Explore Information Services Acquires Transportation Performance

Driver-monitoring company Explore Information Services Inc. has acquired Transportation Performance Inc., a provider of business intelligence to improve fleet driver safety and productivity.

Terms were not disclosed.

Explore has grown into the largest driver-monitoring business in North America and currently monitors more than 65 million drivers per month, according to the company. In 2013, it expanded into commercial fleet driver monitoring with the launch of its SuperVision product.

“Combining SuperVision ... with TPI’s rich integrated business intelligence will allow fleet carriers to manage driver performance and compliance through a single suite of products,” Explore Managing Director Tom Eggenberger said in a statement.

Explore, founded in 1989, is wholly owned by Solera Holdings Inc.

Transportation Performance, founded in 2007, is located in Buckeye, Arizona.
