More than 800 systems are intended to be operational by late October, according to the statement issued by StarTrak, Morris Plains, N.J., a unit of wireless technology provider Orbcomm Inc., Fort Lee, N.J.
Hirschbach President Brad Pinchuk said the new system “will give us greater control, helping us manage our fuel costs and our assets in the field. This will ultimately allow us to provide greater service to our customers.”
The Sentry system includes tractor identification, fuel monitoring and geofencing, as well as cargo monitoring that will be integrated with the fleet dispatching system for Hirschbach, based in South Sioux City, Neb.
