Ryder System’s third-quarter profit rose 15% to $73.9 million, or $1.40 per share, from $64.3 million, or $1.26, a year ago.
Revenue rose 4% to $1.6 billion, the Miami-based company said Tuesday.
Earnings included a charge of $3 million, or 6 cents per share, related to nonoperating pension costs, Ryder said.
Ryder’s fleet management solutions unit’s earnings from continuing operations rose 2% to $96.4 million, while revenue rose 3% to $548.3 million.
Its supply chain solutions segment’s earnings from continuing operations rose 21% to $38.5 million, with revenue up 8% to $610.8 million.
Ryder System is the parent company of Ryder Supply Chain Solutions, which is ranked No. 10 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
