D.W. Morgan, a third-party logistics and supply chain consulting firm, has developed an iPhone application that the company said has helped it eliminate paper bills.
The iPhone incarnation of D.W. Morgan’s application links with ChainLinq Suite, the company’s inventory management software.
D.W. Morgan, Pleasanton, Calif., joins a growing number of transportation companies to develop software applications for mobile handsets.
Larger trucking software pro-viders such as McLeod Software and TMW Systems have had mobile versions of their enterprise management systems on the market for several years.
More recently, software developers serving particular segments of the transportation industry, such as Internet-based load boards for brokers and carriers, have started releasing mobile versions of their own applications.
Getloaded.com, for example, released a phone-based version of its load board earlier this year.
