ABF Expands Ocean Transport to South America

ABF Freight System said it has expanded its ocean transport coverage to several countries in South America.

The company’s global supply chain services division said it now provides full-container-load and less-than-container-load ocean transport to and from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay.

“ABF Global now covers nearly 90% of the total ocean international market to and from the United States. Our goal is to reach 96% of the total import-export market, which we anticipate achieving before the end of 2013,” said Carlos Martinez-Tomatis, the division's vice president.

ABF is a subsidiary of Arkansas Best Corp., which is ranked No. 13 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
