ABF Freight System said it is expanding service to the western United States to provide increased shipment velocity to 95% of lanes between major markets in the West.

The regional performance model, or RPM, service was first offered by ABF in 2006 in the Eastern seaboard, and the less-than-truckload carrier expanded coverage to the eastern two-thirds of the country in 2007.

ABF Freight System is the LTL unit of Arkansas Best Corp., which is ranked No. 16 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
