Ala. Seeks Trucking's Help During Drought
Alabama officials are seeking the help of trucking to get hay to drought-stricken farmers in the southeastern part of the state.
“As governor, I am confident that individuals in this state and surrounding states will rise to the occasion to extend a helping hand to those people who are being so adversely affected by this drought,” said Siegelman.

The 10-month-old dry spell has forced Gov. Don Siegelman to declare a state of emergency in 19 southern counties.
Siegelman along with Agriculture and Industries Commissioner Charles Bishop called upon neighboring farmers to donate hay. They also sent out a call to truckers to help get the hay to parched Alabama ranchers.
