APL Logistics appointed Shigeo Mori as chief financial officer on Oct. 18, replacing Masahiko Oka at the helm of the company that was bought by Japanese firm Kintetsu World Express Group in February 2015.
In a statement, APL said that Mori has more than 30 years of experience in financial matters in various roles within Kintetsu, working in Japan, Great Britain and the United States. Mori will be responsible for leading the global finance, treasury, accounting and global support service functions, it added.
“Mr. Mori is a seasoned finance executive who has accumulated extensive international experience in the logistics industry. His appointment reflects APL Logistics’ commitment to strengthening our leadership team to drive our growth plans,” said Beat Simon, president of APL Logistics.
The third-party logistics firm ranks No. 24 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America. Kintetsu ranks No. 12 on the TT airfreight forwarders sector list.
