Arkansas Best Renamed ArcBest Corp.
ArcBest Corp. is the new name of Arkansas Best Corp., the less-than-truckload and logistics operator announced.
ArcBest reported its first-quarter loss narrowed to $2.9 million, or 11 cents per share after pension charges, compared with a loss of $13.4 million, or 52 cents, a year ago.
Revenue improved 11% to $577.9 million, the Fort Smith, Arkansas-based carrier said May 1.
ArcBest said that along with the name change it has created new logos and a new advertising campaign to “strengthen its identity as a holistic provider of transportation and logistics solutions.”
The publicly traded carrier also changed its ticker symbol to ARCB, from its previous ABFS.
ArcBest Corp. is ranked No. 12 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
