Arkansas Trucking Association Makes New Selections for Road Team

The Arkansas Trucking Association announced that it has selected five new members to join the Arkansas Road Team.
An outreach program of the association, the team is made up of professional drivers who lead public education efforts about highway safety.
The selected drivers are Wesley Cox of J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Donnie Pace of ABF Freight System, Lazaro Ruiz of Old Dominion Freight Line and Ronnie Mahan and Austin Simmons, who both drive for FedEx Freight.

Candidates for the Road Team were judged by a panel of experts representing the trucking industry, law enforcement and the media. Panel members assessed nominees’ knowledge of the industry, overall safe driving record and ability to communicate the industry’s message.
“These five drivers impressed the selection panel with their professionalism, engaging personalities and dedication to safety,” said Arkansas Trucking Association President Shannon Newton. “Coupled with their commitment to safe driving, we know they will serve as wonderful ambassadors for our industry and we are proud to share their stories and experiences with communities across the state.”
FedEx Corp. ranks No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America. J.B. Hunt ranks No. 4 and Old Dominion Freight Line ranks No. 10. ABF is a subsidiary of ArcBest, which ranks No. 15 on the for-hire TT100.
