American Trucking Association said its Information Technology & Logistics Council is developing “reference architectures” for truckload and less-than-truckload companies to provide a road map for best business processes.
The road map is based on concepts proved in practice and are supported by detailed technology models, according to ATA.
The business guideline also is designed to make it simpler for vendors to provide software that conforms to established industry best practices.
The reference architecture will be explained at the ITLC and National Accounting & Finance Council annual conference June 16-18 in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
ATA said this is the first attempt in the industry to create a reference architecture “that is accessible and useful for all relevant stakeholders” and will give an update on its development during the June meeting.
