The American Transportation Research Institute has released a compendium of sustainable freight practices.

The compendium, released Sept. 18, identifies practices ranging from driver training, idle reduction and speed management to vehicle aerodynamics, tires and engine systems, as well as research findings on the associated costs and benefits.

“Sustainable practices are an emerging focus for trucking companies. ATRI’s compendium is a great resource for gaining insight into what many of these practices are as well as the potential costs and benefits associated with them,” said Chad England, CEO of refrigerated carrier C.R. England and a member of ATRI’s research advisory committee.

The compendium is available free on ATRI’s website, www.atri-online.org.
