Averitt Express expanded three of its key facilities as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen its foothold in Nashville, Tenn., the company announced Jan. 31.
The Cookeville, Tenn.-based transportation and logistics company first completed extensive renovations of its area service center. Those included facility upgrades and improved security. It also moved its nearby fulfillment and logistics operations into new facilities.
Averitt ranks No. 29 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
“Our commitment to our facilities is a direct investment, not just in our own network, but also in our customers’ success,” said Joe Paul Tackett, Nashville Service Center director at Averitt.
The renovated service center includes 510 truck parking spaces and 162 dock doors. It can accommodate 190 drivers and more than 300 associates. Upgrades include improved office space, adding lights to improve safety, new restrooms, new fencing, a new wash bay and a preventive maintenance locker room.
