Big Brown Hopes to Tear Up the Track

Parcel carriers are used to expedited deliveries and fast transit times, but United Parcel Service is buying a little more speed as an official sponsor of a Nascar racing team.

The Atlanta-based carrier is supporting the No. 28 car of the Robert Yates Racing Team, driven by Ricky Rudd in this season’s Winston Cup Series.

UPS officials and Rudd unveiled the logo, located on a driver’s side panel, during qualifying sessions for the Pepsi 400 held July 1 at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.

Rudd finished fifth behind the race’s winner, Jeff Burton, and took home $79,900 for his effort. He is ranked fifth among the top 25 drivers on the circuit and ninth among the top 40 all-time money winners.
