GlobalTranz Enterprises announced that Bob Farrell returned as chairman and CEO, effective immediately.
Farrell was CEO from February 2016 to January 2019.
He hadn’t departed the third-party logistics company completely as he was still executive chairman. Farrell succeeds Renee Krug, who is leaving to pursue other interests.
“GlobalTranz has created market-leading growth and value for its customers through pioneering technology innovation, development of advanced customer solutions, creation of strong carrier partnerships and by providing a superior work environment,” Farrell said in a statement Sept. 17.
Farrell has held executive positions in technology companies for more than 30 years. During his time at GlobalTranz, he has spearheaded several acquisitions including AFN Logistics, Circle 8 Logistics and Apex Logistics Group.
“I look forward to working with everyone in the GlobalTranz community to take these successes further by providing even more value to our great customers, partners, agents and employees,” Farrell said.
GlobalTranz is a full-service third-party logistics provider with a focus on technology. It ranks No. 49 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America and No. 9 on the TT list of the top freight brokerage firms. — Transport Topics
