Bridgestone Adds Ecopia Steer Tire
Bridgestone Americas Inc. announced the launch of its Bridgestone R284 Ecopia steer tire, which is designed for improved fuel economy, enhanced treadwear and is SmartWay-certified for low rolling resistance.
The tire features a tread compound for long wear life and patented NanoPro-Tech polymer technology for a 5% improvement in rolling resistance compared with the Ecopia R283A steer tire — based on rolling resistance measurements on 16 ply tires sized 295/75R22.5. But results may vary, according to the Nashville, Tenn.-based company.
“Bridgestone launched the R284 Ecopia tire to … maximize fuel efficiency and lower the total cost of tire ownership,” Kyle Chen, brand manager for truck and bus radial tires, United States and Canada, said in a company statement. — Transport Topics
