Armored vehicle transportation company Brink’s said its fourth-quarter profit declined from a year ago while its full-year earnings rose.
The company’s fourth-quarter net income was $15.8 million, or 33 cents per share, compared with $19.9 million, or 42 cents, a year earlier, the company said.
North American profit fell to $6 million, from $18 million a year ago, due to higher security costs and price and volume pressure, the company said in a statement.
Revenue climbed 13% to $997 million, Brink's said.
For full 2011, Brink’s posted earnings of $74.5 million, or $1.55 per share, up from $57.1 million, or $1.18 per share, a year ago. Revenue for the year climbed to $3.89 billion, up from $3.12 billion.
