California Issues Natural Gas Grants

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. said two California environmental agencies awarded grants totaling more than $11 million to further the development of natural gas fueling stations and vehicles.

The Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee and the South Coast Air Quality Management District approved grants of $3.6 million to Clean Energy to help defray the cost of building nine new natural gas fueling stations, Clean Energy said Thursday.

The management district also announced grant awards totaling $7.7 million to assist a group of Clean Energy’s customer companies with the purchase of natural gas-powered heavy-duty vehicles.
