Camrett Logistics is investing $575,000 to expand its Virginia warehouse in Wythe County, a move expected to create jobs and improve service to local manufacturers, the company said.

The expansion is part of Camrett’s broader growth in Southwest Virginia, where it has been operating since 1995. Headquartered in Wytheville, Camrett Logistics manages 11 facilities across the state, primarily along the Interstate 81 corridor.

The expansion in Wythe County, which is expected to add about 10 jobs, follows a $2 million expansion announced in 2023 that included new construction and upgrades at the company’s Pulaski County facility in Dublin, Va. That project aimed to boost capacity and incorporate green supply chain technology, adding 58 jobs in the process.

“We are always gratified to see a homegrown Virginia company continue to invest in the commonwealth,” said Gov. Glenn Youngkin in a press release.

The expanded facility is set to operate as a distribution center for bottles and American food products, which will be shipped to U.S. armed forces bases worldwide, supported by the Port of Virginia.

“This success is largely attributed to the dedication and exceptional work of the company’s talented employees,” said Camrett Logistics President Cameron Peel. “As Camrett Logistics continues to grow, the company remains committed to fostering a positive work environment that empowers employees to thrive and contribute to the organization’s continued success.”

Local leaders welcomed the investment.

“Wythe County is proud to see Camrett Logistics’ continued growth,” said Brian W. Vaught, chairman of the Wythe County Board of Supervisors. “Camrett is a key part of our industrial community and a good example of the collaboration that keeps Wythe County moving forward.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, in collaboration with Wythe County, helped secure the project. Camrett Logistics is set to receive benefits from the Virginia Enterprise Zone Program and employee training support from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.

State legislators also praised the project.

“It’s always great to see Virginia companies like Camrett Logistics expand in the communities where they started,” said state Sen. Travis Hackworth.
