Celadon’s 2Q Income Drops

Truckload carrier Celadon Group said late Wednesday its fiscal second-quarter profit plunged 72% to $1.7 million, or 8 cents a share, from $6.1 million, or 26 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue for the fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31 rose 13% to $138.6 million, the company said in a statement.

Celadon is ranked No. 56 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
