C.H. Robinson Acquires Produce Companies

C.H. Robinson Worldwide said that it has acquired two jointly owned produce companies.

Rosemont Farms Corp., Boca Raton, Fla., provides marketing and logistics services to retail and food service customers, C.H. Robinson said in a statement Wednesday.

Quality Logistics, also based in Boca Raton, provides transportation and logistics services in the produce industry, focusing on less-than-truckload and refrigerated transportation.

The companies were established in 1999, C.H. Robinson said. Andrew Schwartz and Frank Segui, who founded the companies along with Don Brodie, will continue to work in management positions within the company after the acquisitions.

Acquiring the companies “continues C.H. Robinson’s long track record of adapting to the needs of the marketplace by developing new approaches to the produce supply chain,” Jim Lenke, senior vice president of sourcing at C.H. Robinson, said.

Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

C.H. Robinson is ranked No. 7 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics firms.
