C.H. Robinson Reports Higher 1Q Profit

Transportation and third-party logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide reported a first-quarter profit of $97 million, or 59 cents a share, up 15.5% from $84 million, or 50 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue grew 14% to $2.4 billion, the company said late Tuesday. Transportation revenue rose 20.3% to $342.9 million.

Truck revenue, including truckload and less-than-truckload services, gained 21.9% to $294.5 million. Truckload volumes increased 7.5%, while truckload margins matched the previous year's quarter. LTL revenues grew 31%, driven by a 18% increase in shipments.

Intermodal net revenue grew 13% due to increased prices.



C.H. Robinson is ranked No. 8 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics firms.
