Chris Patterson, head of Daimler Trucks North America, plans to retire in June, parent company Daimler AG said Monday.
He will be replaced by Martin Daum, 49, who currently heads operations at Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz plant in Woerth, Germany.
Patterson, who turns 55 this year, will retire after 32 years in the North American commercial trucking industry, 11 of them with DTNA, Germany-based Daimler said in a statement.
“Chris Patterson has been crucial to our efforts to set the course for the competitiveness of [DTNA] with competitive products and a comprehensive efficiency program,” said Andreas Renschler, who heads Daimler’s trucks division globally.
Also effective June 1, Albert Kirchmann will become the new head of Daimler Trucks Asia, in which capacity he also will be president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp.
Kirchmann, 52, will replace Harald Boelstler, 58, who is to retire effective June 30, after a career of more than 30 years at Daimler.
Kirchmann is currently head of finance and controlling, business and product planning at Daimler Trucks & Buses.
