C.C. Clark Inc.’s beverage group and distributing company offshoots will invest $129 million to build a corporate headquarters as part of a new 300,000-square-foot sales and distribution center along Kentucky’s Interstate 65 corridor that links to Louisville and Nashville, Tenn.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, who recently announced the development, thanked “the leaders at Clark Beverage Group and Clark Distributing Co. for this significant investment in Warren County, building on Kentucky’s strength as a national leader in distribution and logistics.”

This investment will expand and establish a new corporate headquarters and distribution facility in Bowling Green, located 45 minutes from Nashville and two hours from Louisville. The new facility will provide key trucking transportation access to Kentucky’s section of the I-65 north-south freight corridor.

“Companies continue to recognize that our state is the perfect location to do business, and that means even more great job opportunities for our residents. It is especially great to see existing companies grow their presence in our state, and I look forward to the Clark Group’s continued growth in the commonwealth,” Beshear added.

The South Central Kentucky project will see the company relocate into a state-of-the-art corporate office and distribution facility to better serve its existing customers and growing demand. The investment will create 20 new jobs, pushing the company’s total Kentucky employment to over 260. The Clark Group, headquartered in Warren County, has over 1,300 employees.

“Located at the center of a 34-state distribution area in the Eastern United States, South Central Kentucky is a prime location for manufacturing and distribution facilities,” notes the local economic development agency, adding that the area “is within a day’s drive” of 60% of the nation’s population, personal income and manufacturing companies.

The Clark Group provides more than 18,000 customers with nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverage brands, such as Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, Monster Energy, Molson Coors, Boston Beer and Heineken.

C.C. Clark started in 1903 when founder Carsie Cannon Clark began a small soda water operation in Martin, Tenn. Clark Distributing Co. was formed in 1969 when Dal Clark, along with other family members, bought the Miller/Falstaff distributor in Bowling Green.
