Commercial Vehicle Group Turns 3Q Profit

Parts maker Commercial Vehicle Group said it turned a third-quarter profit compared with a big loss a year ago, and predicted truck production would increase next year.

The company earned $1.1 million, or 4 cents a share, compared with a loss of $15.9 million, or 73 cents, a year ago.

Operating income rose to $5.1 million, compared with a $7.8 million loss last year.

Revenue jumped to $150.9 million, from $110.8 million, CVG said in a statement.

North American Class 8 truck production will be about 155,000 this year, and rise to 220,000 to 230,000 in 2011, the company said, in line with its previous forecast.

CVG’s products include static and suspension seat systems; electronic wire harness assemblies, controls and switches; structures and components; interior trim systems; and other systems designed specifically for commercial vehicles.
