Con-way Freight, YRC Unveil Smart-Phone Apps

Con-way said its app for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry phones gives shippers an option to create a custom rate quote for shipments within the United States and Canada.

In addition to custom rate quotes, app users can track shipments, view shipping documents and locate and call service centers. Before launching the applications, users must enter their Con-way Freight Web-registered username and password in their phone’s settings.

Shippers can access the Con-way Freight Tools app from their smart phone’s app store.

YRC said it has expanded its mobile service offerings, which allows customers to view shipping documents on the Android and iPhone through its apps and on all other Web-enabled phones.

The apps and mobile site enable shippers to track shipments, get rate quotes and connect with customer service. YRC also said shippers can receive service alerts.
