Con-way Rebrands CFI Truckload Unit

Con-way Inc. said Thursday it changed the name of its truckload operating unit Contract Freighters Inc. to Con-way Truckload.

Con-way Inc. completed the $750 million acquisition of privately held CFI in August.

“The new name communicates that we are truly part of the Con-way organization,” said Herb Schmidt president of Con-way Truckload. “Our integration into Con-way has brought us a larger customer base and, with it, more opportunities for our company and our people.”

The new combined Con-way Truckload unit has more than 2,800 tractors, 8,000 trailers and 3,500 employees and is is expected to bring in $500 million in annual revenue, the company said in a statement.



Con-way is ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
