Consumer Spending Unchanged in June

Consumer spending was unchanged in June and incomes increased 0.5%, the largest gain in three months, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.

The stall in spending followed a revised 0.1% decrease in April that was previously reported as little changed.

Economists had called for 0.1% rise in spending, Bloomberg reported.

A rise in consumer spending could increase demand for new factory goods and the trucking shipments that get them to stores.
