Canadian carrier Contrans Group’s second-quarter profit rose, in part on acquisitions, the company said.
Net income rose to C$8.1 million, or 24 cents a share, from C$5.2 million, or 15 cents, a year earlier.
Revenue rose to C$115 million, from $C91.8 million, the Woodstock, Ontario-based company said.
Acquisitions completed in 2012 contributed C$11.4 million of revenue from transportation services, the company said.
In January, Contrans acquired Wilburn Archer Trucking, a dry-bulk trucking business based in Norwood, Ontario, which has annual revenue of about C$14 million.
Contrans is ranked No. 63 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
