CRST International said it acquired the special products division of Allied Van Lines to bolster its Specialized Transportation Inc. business, which moves high-value products. Terms were not disclosed.
CRST purchased STI in 2011 and provides transportation for trade shows, warehousing and delivery services for customers in technology, health care, industrial, furniture, store fixtures, telecommunications and financial services markets.
The combined business will offer an expanded distribution network, better service and faster transit times, said STI President Andrew Hadland. STI’s 2013 revenue is projected to exceed $250 million.
CRST, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
