CSC Wins 3-Year Postal Repair Contract

Computer Sciences Corp. announced it has won a $42 million, three-year contract from the U.S. Postal Service to repair mail containers, trays and sacks at a postal facility near Los Angeles.

The pact has a three-year base and two two-year options and was awarded during CSC’s fiscal fourth quarter which ended April 1, CSC said.

“This award reflects the U.S. Postal Service’s ongoing confidence in CSC’s ability to improve performance and durability while ensuring the rapid deployment of high-quality mail transport equipment,” the company said in a statement.

CSC said more than 50 million postal containers, trays and sacks come through the 189,000 square foot facility each year. These items will be repaired, recycled or disposed of, the company said.

Falls Church, Va.-based CSC, which offers IT, logistics and business services, has provided management and logistical support at eight USPS mail equipment centers since 1999.
