CVSA Moves Roadcheck Back a Week to June 8-10

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has scheduled its annual Roadcheck event for June 8-10, a week later than previously announced.

CVSA made the change because the original dates directly followed Memorial Day, American Trucking Associations said Tuesday in its newsletter to members. That created scheduling problems for some law enforcement agencies.

Roadcheck is a 72-hour event in which inspectors set up more than 1,000 checkpoints on highways across North America to monitor truck safety compliance.

The 2009 event showed an 80.4% rate of compliance with safety regulations, the highest since 1996, CVSA said.
