Daimler Trucks’ 2Q Earnings Slip, Revenue Rises

Daimler AG said Friday said in a preliminary second-quarter earnings statement that earnings at its Daimler Trucks unit declined from a year ago, while revenue rose.

Earnings before interest and taxes for Daimler Trucks declined about 11% from a year ago to about $565 million.

Revenue rose to about $10.4 billion from $9.9 billion a year ago, said Stuttgart, Germany-based Daimler, which reports its earnings in euros.

The company said its overall earnings before interest and taxes were “largely in line with [its] internal expectations” and with its 2013 outlook.

Daimler, which emphasized its figures were preliminary and have not been reviewed by auditors, will release its second-quarter earnings on July 24.
