Bulk prices for diesel exhaust fluid in the United States rose in February for the second consecutive month, Integer Research reported.
The national average DEF price grew by 3 cents to $1.57 per gallon for full truckload deliveries of the product, Integer reported Feb. 28 in its monthly DEF Tracker report. The price for less-than-truckload deliveries, meanwhile, increased by 5 cents to $1.89 per gallon.
DEF’s average price at truck stops gained 1 cent to $2.80 a gallon.
Detroit had the highest bulk averages in February among the 21 regional hubs Integer tracks. Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City had the highest prices.
Bulk prices declined in the second half of 2013 before rising in January, Integer said.
DEF prices also increased in Canada, hitting 48 cents per liter for full truckload, 58 cents for LTL and 61 cents for tote refills.
