Diesel Average Rises 1.3¢ to $2.128
The U.S. average retail diesel price rose by about a penny, as it continued the small fluctuations that have lifted it by 0.7 cent over the past three weeks.
Diesel was $2.128 after climbing 1.3 cents, the Department of Energy reported after its April 11 survey of fueling stations.
That was still 62.6 cents cheaper than a year ago when the price was $2.754.
Diesel has risen just 0.7 cent since March 28, a period that also included a decline of 0.06 cent.
Diesel prices rose in all regions except in New England where it fell 0.6 cent to $2.237.
The Gulf Coast had the lowest price, $1.992 despite an increase of 0.9 cent.
Also, the average retail price of regular gasoline fell 1.4 cents to $2.069, DOE’s Energy Information Administration said.
The price was unchanged in the East Coast region, at $2.033.
It rose in the New England, Central Atlantic and Rocky Mountain regions.
It fell in the other regions, and was lowest in the Gulf Coast area at $1.835.
