Diesel Falls 2¢ a Gallon to $2.482

The U.S. average retail diesel price fell 2 cents a gallon to $2.482 after increasing the previous week, the Department of Energy reported Nov. 16.

The national average for trucking’s main fuel was less expensive by $1.179 a gallon from a year ago, when the price was $3.661.

Retail prices dropped in all areas of the nation except for the Rocky Mountain region, where it was unchanged at $2.488.

Diesel fuel was highest in California, where after a 3.4-cent decline it was $2.769 a gallon. Diesel was lowest in the Gulf Coast region at $2.304 after dropping 1.3 cents.



Gasoline fell 5.7 cents a gallon to $2.178 a gallon and was 71.6 cents cheaper than a year ago when it was $2.894. It declined in all regions.
